ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION - RATINGS
Example Project:
Conceived and implemented a strategy to bring the Alberta transmission network into compliance with NERC FAC-008. The strategy drew on lessons learned from US transmission operators to create a 3D digital twin of the network to confirm electrical line load transfer capacity and thermally rate >11,000 km of high voltage lines across the province.

UTILITY VEGETATION MANAGEMENT
Distribution Company Example
Developed and implemented a strategy to tackle vegetation clearance assessment for parts of a major Californian IOUs distribution network to reduce the risk of tree conductor conflagration. The strategy used aerial LiDAR to produce a tree-level inventory for prescription generation and task order management.
Transmission Company Example
The Northeast Blackout of 2003 caused over $6BN in economic damage, contributed to 11 deaths and left 50 million in the US and Canada without power. Nick Implemented a LiDAR collection and analysis program with a major utility in New York and Massachusetts to improve reliability, safety and comply with NERC FAC-003, a standard that was introduced to help reduce the chances of a similar event occuring again.
OIL TRANSMISSION
Example Project:
Implementation of Artificial Intelligence for a major liquids operator in Western Canada to monitor external threats to pipeline integrity, with a focus on geohazard management. This included intelligent detection of ground changes to screen for new geohazards and monitor existing geohazards.

Example Project:
Senior Vice President for an international LiDAR services company specializing in electricity transmission and distribution. Led the expansion of the company into new geographies (Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and India, Canada) and turned around existing subsidiaries (USA).
